What to Expect from Your Massage or Aromatherapy Session
Before your session...
You will be asked to complete an intake form on your first visit giving a brief health history and your goals and preferences for the session.
Every session begins with a conversation between the client and therapist regarding your goals on the day of service as well as your current conditions and preferences. I will take notes on what we have discussed.
If you are having a table massage, I will leave the room to give you privacy to get on the table. If needed, I will stay in the room to assist you onto the table.
During a massage session...
Clients undress to their comfort level. You can remain fully dressed if you like and massage strokes will be adjusted accordingly. It does help to remove any jewelry that you are comfortable removing.
I will not ask you to turn over if that is not within your capabilities I am mindful of your condition and your ability to move on the table during the massage. .
The height of the table is kept low so that you can get on and off easily and, if needed, I can assist in this process.
You are positioned face-up, face-down or lying on your side according to your preference.
I customarily raise the head of the table to prevent you from becoming congested while on the table.
You will stay appropriately draped with a sheet and blanket throughout the massage, with only the area that is being massaged exposed.
After the massage...
I will leave the room to give you privacy, or if needed, I will stay in the room to assist you off the table.
I will take notes on anything I learned during the massage and share them with you.
You will be offered a cup of water and I will discuss actions you can take to continue enjoying your good health.
